Cracking the code to achieve better business results in 2022

Updated: Nov 29, 2021

As we near the end of 2021 it is common for us to think about our year's progress, or in some cases, lack of it. ‘’ 2021 was a year of struggle for my business’’, ‘’My team's performance was poor this year’’, ‘’We lost a lot of new business opportunities, it was hard to maintain our key clients’’ Does any of these phrases sound familiar to you? Have you been on any of these spots? If you have, you're not the only one! A lot of businesses in 2021 have seen their growth slowing down or even struggled to reach breakeven.

If your performance of this past year is making you fear 2022, I'm here to highlight that this can probably be the greatest opportunity for a successful and fulfilling new year. This, if you feel like challenging yourself with questions like the following:

1. Do I see challenges as learning points? What has 2021 taught me about my business?

Taking a step back and brainstorming about all the lessons you got from the challenges you went through and converting those learnings into actions for the following year is a magical tool to expedite your business goals.

2. Do I have S.M.A.R.T goals for 2022?

Smart stands for: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Specific goals. Sometimes we tend to only see the big picture, but breaking down our goals can help us determine if we have a solid action plan and timeline to achieve our expectations.

3. How do I feel about my 2021 results?

Sometimes we fall into the trap of blaming ourselves for not doing enough or feeling angry about other people who didn't help or under delivered. We tend to waste time and energy on unpleasant feelings, and then we let go. Therefore, the faster we move on to the ‘’how to solve it’’ mindset, the faster we will see results. My advice would be to check your emotions and your thoughts, embrace yourself, acknowledge that you did the best you could do at that time being and move forward.

4. Do I have the help I need?

Entrepreneurs, business leaders, company owners, world renowned businesspeople with years of experience, most of them have teams that they trust. Not knowing how to ask for help or thinking you don't need it could be damaging. Finding the right partners in your growth journey is essential so that you can reach your goals, share the load, the good, the bad, and everything in between. Having a strong team or someone you can trust will make the journey more enjoyable and easy to go through.
